Doch nach den COVID-Startschwierigkeiten letztes Jahr wollte 2021 das Wetter zun\u00e4chst nicht so richtig mitspielen.<\/p>\nDieses Jahr war es wichtig die richtigen Tage zu erwischen. Dank Online-Vorlesungen in der Universit\u00e4t konnte ich relativ flexibel die Tage mit viel Potential abpassen. Dadurch gelangen mir einige coole XC Fl\u00fcge und ich konnte eine Menge Airtime in den Alpen sammeln.<\/p>\n

Am Ende hat es f\u00fcr den 2. Platz in der Sportklasse und den 6. Platz in der Gesamtklasse gereicht. Gl\u00fcckwunsch an alle Piloten f\u00fcr die harten fights! Neben den sehenswerten Platzierungen ist es mir pers\u00f6nlich jedoch wichtiger, beobachten zu k\u00f6nnen, dass ich mich fliegerisch weiterentwickelt habe und aus meinen taktischen Fehlern lernen konnte.<\/p>\n
Nach all den langen Fl\u00fcgen mit dem SPICE bin ich ziemlich stoked \u00fcber die Performance von dem Schirm. Ich freue mich schon auf die n\u00e4chste Saison mit dem SPICE, allerdings hei\u00dft es jetzt erst einmal wieder zur\u00fcck ans planen.<\/p>\n

Es war spannend, die letzte XC-Saison.<\/p>\n
Corona-Einschr\u00e4nkungen, Wetterkapriolen und dazwischen wenige tolle Streckentage…<\/p>\n
So konnte ich \u2013 nach einem verpassten Hammertag, an dem die Konkurrenz die Basis f\u00fcr ihre Top-Platzierungen legte \u2013 nur kurz darauf mein bisher gr\u00f6\u00dftes in Deutschland gestartetes FAI-Dreieck vom Hochfelln fliegen: 260 km, knapp am Gebietsrekord von Chris Bessei (265 km von 2014) vorbei.<\/p>\n
Zusammen mit einem weiteren FAI-Dreieck \u00fcber 205 km vom Felln war das eine gute Basis f\u00fcr eine vordere Platzierung, wenn es dann in S\u00fcdtirol Zeit f\u00fcr die ganz gro\u00dfen Dreiecke ist. So zumindest war der Plan.<\/p>\n

Nur S\u00fcdtirols Streckenwetter hatte andere Pl\u00e4ne. Irgendwie war da immer der Wurm drin. Beim letzten Versuch, im XC-Ranking doch noch ganz nach oben zu fliegen, habe ich gepokert- und den K\u00fcrzeren gezogen. Das f\u00fcr den Vize-Titel n\u00f6tige Erreichen des FAI-Sektors war zum Zeitpunkt der Entscheidung nur wenige Kilometer entfernt, aber der direkte Weg (i.e. Abgleiter) dorthin h\u00e4tte zu dem Zeitpunkt sicher kein Weiterfliegen mehr erm\u00f6glicht.<\/p>\n

Wackeliger 2. Platz oder mehr? Ich wollte es wissen und bin nochmal sehr tief an den Heiligkreuzkofel, um vielleicht doch noch hoch zu kommen und die n\u00f6tigen Kilometer f\u00fcr den Gesamtsieg zu schaffen. Hat nicht funktioniert, Thermik war zu fr\u00fch zu Ende und\/oder ich zu langsam.<\/p>\n
