Rain, Excitement, Vibes, Running… and more Rain.<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

It\u00b4s 11:25 am<\/strong>. AC\/DC\u00b4s « Hells Bells » is booming out of the Red Bull speakers at Mozartplatz<\/strong> in Salzburg<\/strong>. The athletes excitement and anticipation is absolutely palpable and everybody just wants the race to finally start<\/strong>. All the preparations, planning, sweat, tears and tension are forgotten now.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

11:30 am<\/strong>\u00a0– The countdown is on\u00a00<\/strong>. The athletes are running from Mozartplatz towards\u00a0Gaisberg<\/strong>. The drenching rain does not seem to bother anybody. Even the fans start running on the first meters to support their favourite athletes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For us it\u00b4s time to hop in the next shuttle-bus<\/strong> to drive up to the first turnpoint at the peak of Gaisberg<\/strong>. 1:15 hours<\/strong> after the start the first athlete has reached the turnpoint and placed his flag of the country with a smiling face.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The big field was close though\u00a0and all athletes weren\u00b4t far from eachother. It was exciting<\/strong> to watch!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Due to the rain, unfortunately the participants could not proceed<\/strong> the race with a flight from Gaisberg<\/strong> as usual. Instead they had to continue running…<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

After a short snack we headed down towards Salzburg-Downtown<\/strong> to cheer for our skywalk X-ALPS athletes. It was amazing to see how fast<\/strong> they made their way out of the city of Salzburg towards Hallein and even further…\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We had a little « on the way<\/strong> » interview with our athlete Stephan Gruber (recorded on our Instagram)<\/strong> and also with Paul Guschlbauer (live on Facebook)<\/strong> who got 3rd place 2 years ago<\/strong>. He is definitely one to keep an eye on and highly motivated!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It was\u00a0time to say « good bye » for now and we went back home. We\u00b4ll try to stay as close to the athletes as possible<\/strong> and are looking forward to meet them at the third turnpoint at the Kampenwand in Aschau.<\/strong><\/p>\n
