The first tourstop of the Bordairrace series 2020 took place in Aflenz\/Hochschwab and was a success for all participants, organizers and skywalk! 6 skywalk wings in the top 15 from 74 competitors in total. We are proud of all skywalk athletes and pilots that representet us well!<\/p>\n

« As challenging as it was, bordairrace Aflenz was an amazing adventure. The 33 hours nonstop Hike&Fly adventurerace luckily, took place more or less in my backyard: The mountain range of Hochschwab, which is the place where I learned XC-flying. We took of from Messnerin on Saturday, July 4th 2020 at 12 pm. The northern winds made it kind of hard to cover distance, but nevertheless I made quite good progress heading for Liezen. After apporximately six hours in the air, I landed just in front of Grimming. That’s where I knew I had to push my turnpoint for some more meters in order to gain some space between my fellow competitors and myself. So I hiked up to Grimming from the south side and even managed to soar for about six kilometers and set my turnpoint in midair. I was very lucky, because the strong winds and convergence took me another 38 kilometers back home. I landed in Rottenmann at 21.22 pm. and decided to walk to Gaishorn am See, where some friends of mine – Max and Mo – also wanted to spend the night. After four hours of good sleep we hiked Zeiritzkampel together and took off in perfect conditions. The winds from northwest made it easy to reach Aflenz in time, where I met my dad who perfectly supported me during the whole race. I am grateful for this perfect adventure. »<\/em><\/p>\n

« 33 hours to get as far away as possible and back again. Only flying and walking is allowed. My first bordairrace went good. I hiked 4900 meters of altitude, 63 kilometers on the trail and flew the rest of the distance! Happy with my result. « Bordairrace Hochschwab is over i had two super cool days flying and hiking in front of more or less my home door. Flying conditions where challenging and i did some mistakes but for sure learned a lot. I took it quite easy from the beginning because i drive to switzerland for another big race, the Eigertour, tomorrow and could reach the 9th place in the end. Thank you\u00a0@luca_harpf<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0@vanzi_l<\/a> for the great support! »<\/em><\/p>\n

Saisonauftakt im Bordairrace<\/h3>

Bordairrace in Aflenz ist vorbei und zur\u00fcck bleiben strahlende Gesichter, erfolgreiche Athleten und die Erinnerung an ein perfekt organisiertes Event. DANKE\u00a0an das Paracenter, den Paragleitclub Hochsteiermark und den vielen freiwilligen Helfern! Durch euch und den vielen tollen Athleten wurde\u00a0dieser\u00a0Bewerb zu einem riesen Erfolg!\u00a0<\/p>

Sch\u00f6n, dass nicht nur X-Alps Piloten, Bordairrace-Erfahrene, sondern auch Bordairrace-Neulinge den Weg in die Steiermark gefunden haben.<\/p>

Pr\u00e4chtiges Wetter mit prognostiziertem Nordwind bescherte den Teilnehmern einen spannenden Bewerb. Ob von der B\u00fcrgeralm oder von der Me\u00dfnerin, der Nordwind machte den Bewerb\u00a0von Beginn weg spannend.<\/p>

Einige Athleten starteten auf der Aflenzer B\u00fcrgeralm und erreichten die Me\u00dfnerin als ein Gro\u00dfteil der Piloten dort starteten. Entscheidend war der Flug ins Palten-Liesingtal, wobei immer die Gefahr bestand weit nach Hause laufen zu m\u00fcssen, da die Prognosen f\u00fcr Sonntag nicht sehr gut waren. Die Athleten, die volles Risiko nahmen und bis ins Ennstal zum Grimming flogen, oder liefen um dort ihren Wendepunkt zu setzten, wurden daf\u00fcr belohnt. Simon Oberrauer bewies wieder mal sein K\u00f6nnen und flog bis zum Fu\u00dfe des Grimmings und stieg am Abend noch auf um seinen Wendepunt zu verl\u00e4ngern.<\/p>

\"Auch wenn der erste Stop der Bordairrace Tour sehr fordernd war, war es ein gro\u00dfartiges Abenteuer. Das 33 Stunden Hike&Fly-Rennen fand gl\u00fccklicherweise mehr oder weniger vor meiner Haust\u00fcre statt: Dem Hochschwab-Gebirge. Dort wo ich das Streckenfliegen so richtig gelernt habe. Wir starteten von der Messnerin am Samstag, 04. Juli um 12:00 Uhr. Der Nordwind machte es sehr schwer Distanz zu machen, jedoch gelang es uns relativ z\u00fcgig Richtung Liezen zu gelangen. Nach ca. 6 Stunden in der Luft landete ich kurz vor Grimming, wo mir klar wurde, dass ich meinen Turnpoint noch etwas nach Au\u00dfen verlagern musste um einige Meter vor meinen Mitstreitern zu machen. Ich ging den Grimming S\u00fcdseitig hinauf und konnte sogar noch 6 Kilometer soaren bevor ich meinen Turnpoint in der Luft setzte. Mit etwas Gl\u00fcck konnte ich aufgrund der Konvergenz und den starken Winden sogar noch 38 Kilometer zur\u00fcck nach Hause fliegen. In Rottenmann landete ich um 21:22 Uhr und entschied mich dazu noch bis Gaishorn am See zu laufen, wo ein Paar meiner Freunde sich aufhielten. Nach 4 Stunden Schlaf liefen wir gemeinsam hoch zur Zeiritzkampel und starteten bei perfekten Bedingungen. Die Nordwest-Winde machten es uns leicht innerhalb der vorgegebenen Zeit zur\u00fcck nach Aflenz zu kehren, wo mein Vater der mich das Rennen perfekt supportete, bereits wartete. Ich bin super Gl\u00fccklich mit meinem 1. Platz!\"<\/em><\/p>

\"Ziemlich anspruchsvolle Flugbedingungen, die mich mit einem Jahr Flugerfahrung ganz sch\u00f6n ins Schwitzen gebracht haben. Hatten einen sehr starken Nordwind, welcher am zweiten Tag nochmals zugenommen hat. Ich bin 4900 hm und 65 km gegangen. Habe es zur\u00fcck ins Ziel geschafft und 2ter in der Damenwertung geworden. Alles in allem bin ich sehr zufrieden mit meinem Ergebnis!\"<\/em><\/p>

\"Bordairrace Hochschwab ist vorbei und ich hatte zwei super coole Flugtage, mehr oder weniger bei mir vor der Haust\u00fcre. Die Flugbedingungen waren sehr fordernd - zus\u00e4tzlich habe ich noch die ein oder andere Fehlentscheidung getroffen, jedoch jede Menge Erfahrung sammeln k\u00f6nnen. Ich wollte nicht in die Vollen gehen, da ich die Woche nach dem Wettbewerb schon wieder in die Schweiz auf die n\u00e4chste Competition fahre - die Eigertour\"<\/em><\/p>
