Season Kick-Off in Austria’s Zillertal
Since 2012, the Rise & Fall relay has been THE kick-off event for the winter season in the Austrian ski resort of Mayrhofen. When the starter’s gun is fired for the fifth time at the base station of the Ahornbahn cable car, 61 teams once again will have the chance to show their mettle in ski-mountaineering, mountain biking, on racing skis and snowboards, an in paraglding.
The teams of top athletes and well-trained amatures have to climb 430 vertical meters in each of the “Rise” and “Fall” disciplines. The winner receives prize money in the amount of 10,000 euros. Racing this year are several Red Bull X-Alps athletes including Chrigel Maurer and Manuel Nübel, as well as skywalk designer Alex Höllwarth.
