X-ALPS Approved
Comfort with perfection
Who better to construct a rucksack for the toughest adventure race in the world than an X-Alps athlete himself? That’s why the rucksack for the Red Bull X-Alps 2019 was designed by none other than Paul Guschlbauer and perfected in collaboration with mountaineering equipment supplier SALEWA and skywalk.
The new HIKE X-ALPS is so compact that you hardly feel it on your back, even on long stretches, steep ascents and climbing sections. The split shoulder straps and the 2-in-1 compression chest strap fit anatomically perfectly around the shoulder girdle and feel like a second skin.
The roll-top concept makes it possible to adjust the volume of the HIKE X-ALPS individually to the equipment. The volume can be varied from 45 to 55 liters and thus corresponds exactly to the requirements of outdoor racing, just like many other small details of the backpack. For example, the four stretch outer pockets that provide storage space for clothing, food and other necessary equipment. Navigation devices or mobile phones can be mounted with Velcro on the shoulder strap where you can keep an eye on them.
After the paraglider and the harness, the rucksack is the closest companion of the X-Alps athletes during the race. It goes without saying that the HIKE X-ALPS material is highly water-repellent and robust enough to survive 1,000 kilometers of Hike&Fly under the toughest conditions. Despite this, the HIKE X-ALPS weighs just 400g.
The HIKE X-ALPS is available immediately in a limited edition from your skywalk dealer or the skywalk webshop.
