IronFly 2018

For the first time the “IronFly” went down. The Hike&Fly competition takes the athletes across the northern Italian and Swiss Pre Alps, the foothills of the Alps, via four turnpoints before finally arriving in Suello.

Race start – Lecco

Take off – Monte Cornizzolo (first Turnpoint)

Macugnaga Monte Rosa (second Turnpoint)

Bormio (third Turnpoint)

Passo della Presolana (fourth Turnpoint)

Suello (Goal)

(This way to the results)

skywalk team pilots Tom Friedrich and Simon Oberrauner also participated in the race. With his sensational 5th place at the Red Bull X-Alps 2017, Simon proved that he is a serious Hike&Fly competitor and no one to underrate.

With a great 4th place Simon finished the IronFly. Also Tom Friedrich – who celebrated his 17(!!!) birthday during the race – showed his skills and came in 5th place. Awesome!

Congrats to Simon, Tom and all the other athletes that made this event so exciting to watch! We are looking forward to next year!

If you followed the race, you have surely seen a few posts of the athletes on Facebook or Instagram. Social media once again made the race even more exciting due to “live” action, stories, postings and more of the participants.
